Start Smart College orientation opportunity for HS students with disabilities--MSCTC, Moorhead
Description
What to expect: One day of experiential learning, led by the staff from Minnesota State Community & Technical College. Students will participate in a small group, meeting with other students with disabilities interested in college as an option after high school. All materials will be provided, including lunch.
The student participant will:
‣ Gain an awareness of the facilities and services on a college campus;
‣ Develop an understanding of disability services available at a college level;
‣ Develop an understanding of student services available at a college level;
‣ Examine financial aid options; and,
‣ Gain an awareness of expectations for college level work, time management, study skills and independent living.
This is a ONE-DAY session, being held on FIVE different dates & campus locations.
The dates and locations follow:
• February 29, 2016 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Fergus Falls Campus
• March 1, 2016 at Alexandria Technical & Community College
• March 2, 2016 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Moorhead Campus
• March 3, 2016 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Detroit Lakes Campus
• March 4, 2016 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Wadena Campus
